december days

The first few weeks of December were a blur of parties. We celebrated Annah's 9th birthday (she was overjoyed to receive an American Girl doll - Rebecca from 1912), we hosted the Whitworth athletic training students (35 college students) for their department Christmas party. Shane smoked tri-tip steak and we had a very fun night with them. Two days later I hosted the homeschool mom's from our co-op for the mom's Christmas party and that included about 23 women. Also in December we helped decorate our church for Christmas, the girls performed in the church Christmas pageant, West sang with his Sunday school class, both girls auditioned for a CYT musical, we went sledding at a hill at the end of our street and did lots of cookie and merry making.
november days
In November Shane's dad (Papa Dennis), Tammy and Meagan came to visit for a long weekend, we attended an awesome harvest party with our church Sunday 20's and 30's Sunday school class, we spent lots of time crafting (sewing for the girls, a Winterwoods counted cross stitch sampler for me) and we spent a week in Silverton for Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful week there with nothing on the agenda except relaxing with family around Mimi's woodstove, taking daily walks on our old favorite routes and our dear friends, the Rawies, threw a lunchon party for us and a few other good friends at their house. It was bittersweet to see everyone but good for the soul to be with friends again.
