Happy 4th Birthday Ruby
By Mira: On January 6, our sweet Ruby turned four years old. For our tradition of a birthday breakfast of donuts and egg bake, she requested a sprinkle donut. It just so happened that the color of sprinkles were pink and red, which are her favorite colors, probably made for Valentines day. Ruby was certain they had made them just for her! Another part of turning four in the Wibel household is that she longer has to take naps. She received a cd player and audiobooks to listen to during that time instead. At Awanas that week, they gave her a shiny paper crown, which has since grown to her head, or so it seems. Does she sleep with it on? She only traded it for the party hat for a minute in the above picture. Now Silas is counting the days until his fourth birthday. Poor kid. He sure doesn't know that there are still nine months until October 21!
Wishing and dreaming of spring and bought some tulips to bring some springtime inside.
Made birdseed ornaments with our preschool co-op class
Been trying to keep this little deer away from the hay in our goat barn. He's into the hay every chance he gets or eating the carrots off our snowmen.
Starting read-a-louds again. This month Caddie Woodlawn with Annah.
Decorating and moving furniture AGAIN.
Trying to keep the three little ones from going crazy inside. We take them to the gym at Whitworth University sometimes to let them run around after balls or crawl around the bleachers and we also went rollerskating for homeschool skate which was a blast. These three on rollerskates? It was crazy, exhausting fun.

A New Year, A Fresh Start
It's been a year since we updated out blog. One long, hard year full of the growing pains of starting over and creating a new life for our family. Last night we cuddled on the couch and did something we do often: look through our old blog books - 7 years worth - and reminisce. Most of those books contain few pictures of details on our life since the addition of the boys and Ruby to our family and so I decided to try keeping up this blog again. For their sake and to document and remember this new life we've begun in Spokane. And so it begins with photos of our New Year's breakfast, a big blizzard which left us with 7 inches of new snow and snippets of what these winter days find us doing. Namely cuddling in front of our new wood stove, sewing, reading and making sweet memories.
