Fall in Spokane brought two birthdays - Mira turned 12 and received a sewing machine from Grammie and Grandpa (her goats were her gifts from us) and Silas turned 2 and received a tricycle. September and October was full of warm, sunny days and we enjoyed watching the leaves change color in our new yard, spent our Saturdays at Whitworth football games and had fun at our new homeschool co-op, Awanas and Christian Youth Theater tap dance classes. We visited apple orchards on nearby Green Bluff (I made an apple pie for my 36th birthday), we made new friends and Grammie and Grandpa came to visit one weekend and Mimi and Leyah another. Mira had fun serving at her first church free car wash with her Sunday school class. It was a hard and difficult season for all of us as we settled into a strange new place, new job and missed our friends and so many of our old fall activities back in Silverton.
